The Backup-Paper published by bwInfoSec is intended to provide food for thought and tips on the three points of malware resistance, recovery tests and backing up data in the public cloud. The reason for this is the BSI’s report on the state of IT security in Germany in 2023, in which the BSI comes to the concludes that the threat in cyberspace is greater than ever before. Ransomware is the main threat. In 2023, 13 universities and colleges were victims of ransomware attacks. In order to protect yourself from ransomware, well thought-out backup management is essential.
